Parental controls are essential tools that help you manage, monitor, and protect children's use of devices, apps, and online services.
Apple Parental Controls (iPhone & iPad)
Apple’s Screen Time feature provides a centralised way to manage your child’s digital environment.
How to Enable Content & Privacy Restrictions
Open Settings on your child’s device.
Tap Screen Time.
Under the Family section, select your child’s name.
Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Enter your Screen Time passcode (if prompted).
Toggle Content & Privacy Restrictions to On.
What You Can Manage
Once enabled, you have full control over the following:
App Store Purchases: Block new app installations, app deletions, and in-app purchases.
Content Filtering: Filter explicit music, movies, TV shows, books, and websites.
Time Limits: Set daily usage limits for specific apps or categories.
Built-in Apps: Temporarily hide apps like Safari, Mail, or FaceTime.
Privacy Settings: Prevent unauthorised changes to location sharing, contacts, and calendars.
Game Centre: Disable multiplayer capabilities, adding friends, or screen recording.
Manage Remotely with Family Sharing
If you use Family Sharing, you do not need physical access to your child's device to make changes. You can adjust limits, review activity, and approve requests directly from your own iPhone or iPad.
