3 Steps to Prepare for Travel
Before you head off, we suggest following these steps to ensure you are covered:
Check your current plan: Log in to MySure to view your service details and see if your plan includes roaming data.
Verify your allocation: Check your roaming allowance in the "Manage Spending Limits" section of MySure to ensure it is sufficient for your trip.
Add a Booster: If you need more data, you can add a Roaming Data Booster in three easy steps. Boosters start from just £5 for 2GB, making them an inexpensive way to stay connected.
Pay As You Go customers: You will need to top up your credit to use your phone abroad. Our plans include roaming data when you top up from £10.
Tips for Managing Your Data Abroad
To avoid high data usage or unexpected bills, follow these simple tips:
Turn off mobile data: Switch off data in your phone's settings when you aren't using it to prevent apps from updating in the background.
Use Wi-Fi: Connect to free local Wi-Fi whenever possible.
Adjust settings: Turn off location services, background app refreshes, and "Wi-Fi Assist" to prevent hidden data charges.
Voicemail: Remember that accessing your voicemail while roaming may be chargeable. You may wish to turn it off before you travel.
Call charges: Note that 0800 "freephone" numbers are chargeable at the standard roaming rate while you are abroad.
