Older phones that don't support 5G will continue to work on 4G or earlier technologies. To benefit from the new network's full performance, customers will need a 5G-capable device. Most phones released in recent years already support 5G.
How to check if your phone supports 5G
1. Find your phone's model number
- Phones with a removable battery often have the model number on a sticker under the battery.
- You can also use your IMEI number: dial *#06# to get your IMEI, then enter it at IMEI.info to find your phone's model.
2. Look up your phone model online
- Go to GSM Arena and search for your phone's make and model number.
- Expand the Network section – if there's a 4G Bands section, your phone works with 4G.
