Each year, broadband rental prices will be reviewed and may be subject to an increase by the rate of the Guernsey Retail Price Index (RPI). This change will first take effect from 2020. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the Bailiwick over the last 12 months.
We appreciate that price rises are never welcome but we want to reassure you that we’re dedicated to giving you the best possible experience, including:
- Offering unlimited broadband usage as standard
- Continuing roll out of our high-speed internet service
- Continued investment within Guernsey’s fastest mobile network
Frequently asked questions about RPI:
Why are you increasing prices?
Once a year, as detailed in our terms, we may increase monthly price plans in line with Guernsey RPI, this reflects the increase in the costs to run and invest in the network and service we provide.
What will the increase of my plan be?
We will use the annual Retail Price Index (RPI) that is published by the States of Guernsey. RPI is a measure of the change in prices for consumers on average across the Bailiwick, over the last 12 months.
As an example, the December 2018 Guernsey RPI figure was 2.4%. If your monthly rental charge is £22 a month, your new monthly rental after an increase of this figure would be £22.53. (i.e £22 x 1.024 = £22.53). Any RPI increase the following year would be calculated from your new monthly rental charge.
Please note that future Guernsey RPI figures may increase or decrease.
How will the increase appear on my bill?
The increase will appear on your bill as an increase to your monthly price plan(s).
Can I cancel my contract?
We wouldn’t want to see you go but if you’d like to leave before the end of your minimum term, you will need to pay the remainder of an early termination charge.
