Notice published 1st December 2015, updated 1st March 2016
With effect from 1st December 2015 the cost of calling non-geographic or premium rate numbers (including but not limited to those starting 08 and 09, excluding 080) will be made up of two parts:
- A network access charge: Sure charge 40p per minute from Mobiles (from 8th March 2016) or 10p per minute from Fixed lines.
- A service charge: This is the rest of the call charge. The organisation you are calling decides this, and should advise you how much it is.
Sure can only provide you with information on the cost of the access charge. To check the price of the service charge, please contact the provider of that number. The charge on your bill is the total of access and service charges and can range from a few pence to several pounds.
Further information and number checker can be found here www.phonepayplus.org.uk.
